Multi-Age Autism/EC Classroom

My name is Alexandra Dunshee-Wilkins. My moto is: Every day we wake up is another day to try again. Our mistakes from yesterday do not determine what we can do today. I have a love for God, my family, and children. I have had a love for children from an early age. I was volunteering in the nursery at Sandy Grove Church or babysitting since I was 12 years old.

I have also been volunteering in Robeson County, and Cumberland County Schools for the past 15 years, as well as Kid Stars Rising since the 2023/2024 school year.

During the Covid lockdown I home-schooled my own two children as well as nannied for two beautiful girls and an amazing little boy. During this transition, my grandmother moved in during the last two years of her dementia battle. At this time, I learned a lot about children and patience. I believe this is what led me down the path I am currently on. I'm working toward a higher education in Special Needs Education.

Every child deserves the best opportunity possible for an equal education, even if that means they need a little extra time, guidance, or grace. Not every child learns the same or at the same pace and that is okay. I believe each unique gift a child has is what makes he or she great and is how he or she will shine.
